Title: Indian - scout leads

Artist: unsigned

Date: 1930

Size: 20"x30"

Comments: Spectacular Indian Scout motorcycle poster with publisher imprint which indicates 1930. This shows the 101 Scout, introduced in 1929 and produced in this fashion only until 1932 considered one of the greatest of all Indian motorcycles. Shows cyclist on hill climb probably in the Rockies, truly powerful color lithography, a richness that rivals silk screen. I am not aware of any other specimens of this remarkable vintage motorcycle poster.

Price: $8,900

Condition: B+, unmounted, brilliant color, a few tiny margin tears at top edge (repaired with tiny bit of archival japan paper), there is a moderate amount of soiling (dust streaking) across the top 20% of the poster, and a little waterstain discolor at the top of the snowy peak at upper left. Eye appeal is very positive, the minor flaws do not detract from an amazingly impressive image.
