Title: Specimen Inks from the Eagle Printing Ink and Color Works

Artist: J.A. Hughes

Date: 1896

Comments: Printing ink companies commissioned high quality and artistic advertisments to demonstrate their ink colors. These only appeared in Printing Industry publications and are very scarce today. Fine example of Art Nouveau American color lithography. This is from a lesser known company, with a fascinating abstract design. I thought abstraction wasn't "discovered" until c.1910, but here is an example from 1896!

Price: $65
